Meet Edher – Manager, Esquimalt.
How did you get started in the liquor industry, and what’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned along the way?
I started in the liquor industry as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at our Keating location, where I learned the basics of the business and the importance of providing great customer service. Now, working at our Esquimalt location, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success comes from teamwork, building relationships, and always being willing to learn.
What’s your most memorable experience on the job?
One of the most memorable parts of my job has been getting to know my team and seeing how we come together to support each other and keep things running smoothly. I really enjoy being part of a positive work environment where we help one another and make customers feel welcome.
What’s your go-to drink to impress a crowd?
My go-to wine is Château de Courteillac Bordeaux. I love its fruity character and smooth, balanced taste. It’s even better when paired with a good steak on the BBQ and enjoyed with family or friends.
What’s a hidden gem product customers should know about?
One of the hidden gems in our store is our selection of seasonal products. We have so many fantastic options made right here on the Island, as well as products from other regions, so there’s always something new and exciting to discover at our Esquimalt location.
What makes you proud to be part of The Liquor Co. 1977?
I’m proud to be part of a dedicated team that supports one another and genuinely cares about our customers. I also love that, as part of Peninsula Co-op, the company is always looking for ways to give back to the communities we serve and make a positive difference.
