Meet Alycia – Manager, Keating.
How did you get started in the liquor industry, and what’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned along the way?
I got into the liquor industry 18 years ago, and it sparked my love of learning about it. I’ve spent the last 16 years at the Keating location, so it really feels like a second home. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that it’s all about people. Everyone has a different story, and sometimes you’re not just helping someone pick out a bottle—you’re creating memories for them.
What’s your most memorable experience on the job?
Honestly, it’s the people. The staff and customers I’ve met over the years have made this job so special. I’ve had the opportunity to watch people grow within the company, and helping and supporting them along the way has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
What’s your go-to drink to impress a crowd?
Give me something light and easy to drink! I’m not looking to make things too complicated. Sometimes simple really is better, like Sun Cruisers on a hot day.
What’s a hidden gem product customers should know about?
There are so many! My suggestion is to absolutely ask a staff member. You might even walk out with your new favourite!
What’s a surprising fact or talent you have outside of work?
Fun fact about me: before entering the liquor industry, I travelled all over Canada and the USA for work and lived in South Africa for a bit.
