Meet Briana – Liquor Operation Manager
Could you share your journey within the industry and at The Liquor Co. 1977?
I started at Liquor Depot, working part-time as a sales associate, then moved to the Okanagan where I worked for a family-owned and operated liquor store. Living in the Valley, surrounded by vineyards, I had to learn a lot about wine. After I moved back to the island, I returned to Liquor Depot and was promoted to Store Manager. Overseeing multiple locations, I stepped into the role of Liquor Operations Manager when Peninsula Co-op took over. Happy to say, I am going on my 12th year in the industry!
What aspect of your role do you find most rewarding?
I enjoy supporting our Store Managers and interacting with all Peninsula Co-op and The Liquor Co. 1977 employees. I am proud to work for such an amazing company.
What’s your current favourite drink?
Blue Mountain Chardonnay is my favourite white wine from the Okanagan – Love me a buttery Chardonnay.
All flavours of Georgian Bay tequila sodas are a great choice for Spring and Summer – if you haven’t tried them yet, I highly suggest you do!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Mornings are my favourite part of the day – love enjoying a fresh cup of coffee, double double and I love spending time with my cats – yes, I am that crazy cat lady!
Anything you are looking forward to?
Warmer weather and adventuring and exploring places I haven’t yet seen on this beautiful island we live on.
