Meet Patrick – Customer Service Representative, Tillicum
What drew you to join the team The Liquor Co. 1977?
I started my journey at Liquor Depot in Vernon, where I was first introduced to the Co-op world when it was sold to the local Co-op. After moving to Victoria, I joined Liquor Express Tillicum, which was later acquired by our local Peninsula Co-op. I chose to stay on and now look forward to the future with The Liquor Co. 1977.
What’s one of the most interesting aspects of your role at The Liquor Co. 1977?
I’d say one of the most interesting aspects of my job is getting to work with the product reps. They all have such a deep breadth of knowledge of their products and love to teach you about them. I learn so much more about this industry and about the amazing products we sell.
What’s a product currently in our stores that you think more people should know about?
Every chocolate and wine lover should know about Chocolate Shop! This is a decadent experience perfect for an after-dinner nip. It is also a perfect compliment for many holiday events, such as Valentine’s Day.
Can you describe a particularly memorable interaction with a customer?
I couldn’t possibly name just one. There are so many customers that come to my store that I have formed a bond with. Each interaction with them is a memory I cherish.
If you could create a signature drink for The Liquor Co. 1977, what would it include?
I would make a twist on the Harvey Wallbanger! I would substitute 1oz of fresh orange juice for Blue Curacao, separating each layer to create a gradient matching The Liquor Co.’s colours. I would call it, the ’77 Wallbanger.
